Last June 3 to 5 was one of the most amazing adventures I’ve ever had. I did a backpacking trip alone to Burias Islands, Masbate. Well, I wasn’t all alone… It was a group trip that I joined, but didn’t know anybody. Hahaha! It was fun though. We did Island hoping, where we visited a total of 5 islands. It was my first time traveling alone… it was really refreshing to the mind, soul and tiring to the body. Hahaha! Thanks to GalaPH’s staff for taking care of me and answering my non-stop questions… Hahaha.
It was most likely an overnight adventure since we left Manila at around 10pm and arrived in San Andres, Quezon the next day at around 6am. It’s about an 8hour drive and 1 and a half hour boat ride to Sumbrero Island where we stayed. What I love the most about this trip, aside from seeing the most amazing view ever is the fact that I only spent 4,000pesos all in all! Seriously!!! Who wouldn’t love that right?! The travel package is only 2,700pesos inclusive of service van to Bicol and back to Manila, Boat rides, tour, and three sets of buffet meals… Yes! Three meals… plus 200pesos for the tent rental, 120pesos for the first breakfast, 130pesos for the dinner going back to Manila and around 850pesos for all the other expenses including the pasalubong. How cool and affordable, right? The best tour package I’ve ever encountered. The only thing that’s lacking is… an AIRCON! Hahaha! Kidding! It was really hot the time we went there. Duh… Summer season nga eh! But I really loved the fact that I was able to experience a literal camping trip, where you’d set up your own tent and sleep without electricity. It was on my bucket list and now I was able to cross it out. Hooray!
