Hey guys! So I’m gonna be blogging about my 2016 favorites… Better late than never right? 😀 These are the make-up and skin care products that I’ve used and abused last year up to this moment. My ultimate favorites and holy grail for 2016. Enjoy! 🙂
I’m so in love with Just Herbs No Sun moisturizer with SPF. I got it from Sephora.com, and it was on sale. Super good deal. Not just because it’s discounted, but the formula of this product is just perfect. No need to apply sunscreen after applying moisturizer cause this has both. This product is not that greasy and dries immediately.
At night, after cleansing and toning, I only apply one product, and that’s Alba Botanica Acne Dote Oil Control Lotion. I have oily skin, and this product controls oil and minimizes the appearance of my pores. So far, so good.
Last year, I tried using different brands and kinds of primers, but the only one I fell in love with is the Rimmel Stay Matte Primer. This particular primer is the perfect primer for oily skin. Also, my make-up lasts longer. I love love this one!
Okay, if you’ve seen my past favorites and LOTD posts, you all know how I love the Flormar matte foundation, but mid last year, I’ve discovered a lighter weight, velvety type, with medium to full coverage base product, and that’s the Maybelline Dream Velvet Foundation. I super love this foundation! Maybe it’s the new number one foundation on my list. It’s not just light weight and easy to blend, but it also covers my blemishes well and this particular foundation is so affordable.
When I’ve read and watched reviews about the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer I know I just got to have it! So I asked my friend to buy me a few from the US, since this one’s not available here in the Philippines. And oh my… It didn’t fail the hype! By far the best concealer I’ve had from Maybelline.
The Ben Nye Luxury Powder and MAC’s Studio Fix Powder Foundation are my holy grail when it comes to face powders. I’ve been using these for more than 5 years and both are still on my favorites list. No more explanations needed.
The Tarte Amazonian Clay blush in Deserving and MAC Powder blush in Fleur Power are the blushes I’ve been abusing for over a year now. The Tarte blush is very pigmented and very long wearing, while MAC’s powder blush is the most natural looking blush I’ve ever had that’s great for everyday use. I just love both!
I super love the Anastasia Beverly Hills Contouring Kit that I already bought a spare one just in case… Hashtag hoarder! Haha! The one and only contouring palette I’ve ever had! It has all the shades for contouring even bronzing that I need. No need to look for any contouring palettes anymore. This palette is more than enough, and I lololove it!
2016 is the peak year of strobing, and I’m one of the many who’s actually a big fan of the hype. Here are my go-to highlighters… The NYX Cosmetics Illuminator in Narcissistic, MAC Strobe Cream, and Colourpop Cosmetics Super Shock Cheek Highlighter in Flexitarian.
I seldom use eyeshadows or rather I rarely put something on my eyes cause I’m just too lazy for it. Hahaha. But when I do, I really pick the product/brand that has good formula. I read and watch reviews before buying so my money won’t be wasted. Here are some of my favorites… Urban Decay Naked Basics 2, Kylie’s Birthday Edition Cream Shadow in Copper, and Maybelline’s 24 Hour Color Tattoo Shadow in Bad to the Bronze.
I only had the chance to use two kinds of mascaras last year and both are from Maybelline. I don’t explore that much when it comes to mascara since I rarely use it cause I already have long thick lashes! (Nucks! Hahaha!) Sorry for bragging. 😀 Maybe this year I’ll look for some eye products to try and review.
The longest process I put on my face is applying make-up for my brows. I have weird uneven brows, so I really have to concentrate when applying brow products. I need to make sure that my brows are even and not too thick. Hahaha! And the brow products I’ve been using and can’t leave without are the Wet N Wild Ultimate Brow Kit and MAC’s Brow Set in Beguile.
The past year I was really obsessed on wearing nude lips. I was obsessed that I mainly call myself the “girl that collects 50 shades of nudes”. Hahaha. Corny! I rarely wore red and bold lippies last year cause seriously, it was a lazy year for me to do my makeup. I’m a big fan of the Jeffree Star Velour liquid lipstick in Celebrity Skin and Colourpop Ultra Matte lippies.
Lastly, my favorite setting sprays… MAC Prep+Prime setting spray and Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Marine Boosting Mist. Setting after putting your make-up on is a must! You can even use these setting sprays when you feel that your skin is dehydrated/dry or even oily.
Tada! And finally we’re done! Hahaha. 🙂
Let me know your favorite products so I can try them out too! 🙂
