Hey guys! So before the Lustrous Ph make-up collection comes out to the public this April 15, I’m going to post a review about one of the four products that I got from the launch, the Bronzer and Highlighter palette.
Just a little back story… The Lustrous Ph limited edition make-up collection was launched last March 23 at Flossom Kitchen and Cafe in San Juan. They gave us the freedom to choose four products from the collection to bring home, and so here are the four products that I’ve chosen… The Bronzer and Highlighter Palette, both shades of the Lip and Cheek Tints, and the Natural Brown Brow Pencil.
Here’s my honest review about the Lustrous Bronzing and Highlighter palette. Enjoy! 🙂
Disclaimer:
This is just my opinion and this review is only based on my skin type and skin tone. Meaning, if this product didn’t work for me, maybe it will work for you or vice versa. We all have different skin types and skin tones. The bronzers and highlighters are probably best used as intended.
Packaging:
I love the packaging of the entire collection. The boxes were illustrated by Soleil Ignacio. It’s so in time for the summer and look how gorgeous the boxes are! The Bronzer and Highlighter palette itself comes in a typical BYS tin can packaging with five big pans in it (3 highlighters and 2 bronzers). The packaging of this palette is very durable and sturdy so the products are safe and won’t easily break in case it accidentally falls.
About:
Lustrous is a limited edition makeup collection in collaboration with the actress Nadine Lustre and BYS Cosmetics Philippines. The theme of the first collection is all about that sun-kissed glow. Meaning, more on shimmers, tropical colors, and the look of having natural bronzy glow which is very in-line for this season.

Shades:
I don’t know if they gave shade names, but on the palette itself and on the box there are no shade names indicated. Only the how-to’s and ingredients were placed at the back of the palette.
Overall:
I think the collection is so Nadine. She’s one of the people who brought back the drunk blush look, and since it’s already summer, they made sure that this collection will be relevant to this season.
For the Bronzer and Highlighter palette, I think both of the bronzer shades are too warm for some, and since I’m also acidic the bronzer tends to darken more and looks orangey on my skin. The application of the bronzers should be very minimal as it is kinda powdery and way too pigmented for a bronzer. By that being said, I think I’m gonna reach for another bronzer that’ll fit my skin type and tone better. However, the three highlighters looked really great on me especially the pink and gold shades mixed together. I loved all three highlighters upon trying it. You can wear it individually or mixed depending on your mood. I also loved the shade choices of the highlighters, suited for the summer season.
Overall, the shades that I love from this palette are the pink and gold highlighters. I love how pigmented and bendable the highlighters are, same as with the bronzers, although like what I said, the bronzers are too warm for me and tends to oxidize and becomes orangey on my skin. You can still use both bronzers as eyeshadow base, though. For the pricing, I think 1,499php is okay, since the products are placed on big pans, you get more for the price. Lastly, I think they should have put shade names on the palette for convenience sake.
I’ll rate this palette 3 out of 5! 🙂
What are your favorite bronzing and highlighter palettes? Let me know. 🙂
PS: Thank you for the invites and the products, Lustrous Ph and BYS Cosmetics Philippines… You guys are very kind and generous! 🙂
