LEAHTRAVELS: MT. ULAP – A DREAM COME TRUE

Hey guys! Here’s another travel blog! But before anything else, I’d like to apologize in advance, because this blog will have a lot of photos!!! A LOT! πŸ˜› It’s been a dream of mine to climb Mt. Ulap for as long as I can remember! It all started the first time I went trekking in Batad, Ifugao, and saw the sea of clouds over Sagada, people were talking about how beautiful Mt. Ulap was. And since you all know how fascinated I am with the clouds, I immediately researched all about Mt. Ulap, and that started my dream! I thought that if I could climb Mt. Ulap, I’d be able to touch and taste the clouds! Yes, you read it right… TASTE! And it tasted nothing! Hahaha!

LEAHTRAVELS: MT. SAWI – A DAYHIKE WITH THE “UN-SAWI” COUPLE

It was 4:45amΒ on May 5 as we started walking towards the summit of Mt. Sawi. I was intrigued with its name, “Mt. Sawi.” The locals didn’t give a lot of information, but as the old story goes, the mountain was named after the suicide story of a girl who was heart broken. Damn! I heard a lot of stories similar to that, but she got the mountain, dude, and that was crazy! So I did my research about this mountain and saw the “Myth of Mt. Sawi”.

LEAHTRAVELS: MT. BATULAO – MY FIRST TRAVERSE TRAIL

Last April 22, we went hiking at Mt. Batulao in Batangas. As a spontaneous adventuress, I don’t research about the places we go to before going there, I do that after. That’s how spontaneous I am. Haha! While walking on the trail and talking to our guide, I found out that Mt. Batulao is the second highest mountain in Batangas and that the highest mountain there is Mt. Maculot. I was shocked because we climbed the highest one first before the others! (baliktad mamsh! Hahaha!) Check out our Maculot hike here. Mt. Maculot was the hardest climb I’ve ever done and Mt. Batulao is probably the third. My second hardest was trekking at Batad Banaue, Ifugao going to Tappia Falls (my second hike ever, early 2016).

LeahTravels: Mt. Maculot – My Hardest Climb To Date

It was March 25, at around 2:30am, as we departed from Manila to Batangas. I only had two hours of sleep, but I was really excited, not just because it’ll be my fourth climb, but also because I’m looking forward to the view that I’m about to see, gonna be climbing again with my boyfriend (our second hike together), and the first hike (that we’re complete) with my dearest friends from the first company I’ve worked for that also became my second family.

LeahTravels: Dingalan, Aurora – A Day at the Batanes of the East

Last March 11, we went hiking to three different destinations at Dingalan, Aurora – the Batanes of the East. We trekked going to the light house (first destination), view point (second destination) and to Tawasan Falls (third destination). We hiked for a total of two and a half hours. It was a tiring day for me since the last time I hiked/trekked was about two years ago, but all worth it, ’cause I saw one of the most breathtaking sceneries I’ve ever seen! We saw the perfect blue sky, a great view of the mountains and blue ocean, the light house, the falls, and other gorgeous sceneries in one fun day.
